Google Drive is adding a very useful feature to its application for those who store their videos in the cloud. The automatic subtitle feature that we have seen on YouTube on Google’s side so far is coming to Drive. Drive will now add automatic subtitles to the videos you upload.
Google Drive adds subtitles to videos with speech recognition technology!
Google is bringing a new update to its cloud storage service Drive. Google, which has made the automatic subtitle feature available to Drive users, will convert the audio in the video into text with speech recognition technology. Drive, which will then automatically add the text to the necessary places in the video, will be able to subtitle your video in seconds. So how will this happen?
For example, you uploaded a video to Drive. After finding the video in Drive, you need to right-click on the video and click on the “Manage subtitle tracks” option. Then, you can subtitle your video by clicking on the “Create automatic subtitles” option that appears. The process that works in this way for standard Google Drive accounts provides a little more convenience for Workspace users. Automatic subtitles are added to all uploaded videos unless Workspace users disable subtitles.
Although it takes a while for the subtitles to be processed, once they are finished, your video will come to life in a YouTube-like player for you to watch. Google Drive, which currently only offers English subtitles, will soon add many more language options. What do you think of Google Drive’s new feature? How useful will this feature be to you? You can share your thoughts in the comments.
